The Copy Score is a simple rating for side hustles and small online business models. It rates every model on five dimensions with 1 to 5 dots each. More dots always mean easier for you. You see at a glance what a model asks of you, without hype.
What are the five dimensions of the Copy Score?
| Dimension | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Easy Start | What it costs to begin |
| Quick Win | How soon the first dollar comes |
| Learning Curve | What you need to know or learn |
| No Audience Needed | How much reach or how many existing clients it needs |
| Room to Grow | How far the income can go, and whether it can grow beyond your own hours |
How are the dots given?
These guidelines keep the scores comparable across all models. They are reference values, not a measurement.
| Dots | Easy Start | Quick Win | Learning Curve | No Audience Needed | Room to Grow |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | Under $50 | First sale in 1–2 weeks | You can already do it | Works with no reach at all | Can become a real income stream that grows beyond your hours |
| 4 | $50–250 | 2–6 weeks | A few days to learn | A small network is enough | Good room to expand |
| 3 | $250–1,000 | 1–3 months | A few weeks of learning | Needs some visibility | Solid, but with a ceiling |
| 2 | $1,000–3,000 | 3–6 months | Real craft needed | Hard without an audience or existing clients | Limited, more money only through more hours |
| 1 | Over $3,000 | Over 6 months | Long learning curve | Lives on reach | Pocket money, hard to grow |
Why is there no overall grade?
Because no model is bad. A model just fits a different situation. Instead of a total score, every model gets one of five types:
- Quick Starter: fast first results, good for getting started.
- Slow Builder: takes patience, but there is more in it.
- Skill Booster: you use what you can already do.
- Add-On: works best as a second step, once another model is running.
- Passion Project: joy first, income as a bonus. Often small, but steady.
Who gives the Copy Score?
Sonja D’Angelo gives the dots from her experience as a strategy and sales consultant with more than 12 years in the field. It is a professional assessment, not a personal test of every model. Costs and income are always shown as cautious ranges.
Why should you add your own rating?
Because your situation is not the same as anyone else’s. Your skills, your time and your budget decide what fits. That is why every Copy Score comes with one question: how would you rate it?
What else is on a Fit Card?
Besides the Copy Score, every Fit Card shows who the model is a great fit for, what it takes from you, time per week, start budget, realistic income in year one, where it works, the biggest risk and your first step this week.
What is the Guru Alert?
Every Fit Card has a Guru Alert. It names what gets overpromised around a model. A course check then compares typical course prices with the realistic monthly income from that model.
Do affiliate links influence the Copy Score?
No. Some recommendations contain affiliate links, and this is always disclosed. The dots and any criticism stay the same, with or without a commission.
What does the Copy Score not cover?
Tax, insurance and company registration. These depend on your country, so please ask a local specialist.
